Building custom games

Connect your business locations with a discovery game

Give customers a reason to visit more than their usual location. A collection game can show off what makes each of your locations special.

Show off what makes each location different

If your business has several locations, a Find the Idol game can connect them. Players visit participating locations, collect an idol at each one, and save it to their collection. A regular who always goes to the same spot gets a reason to try the others.

Every location has something of its own. A bookshop might have a local history corner at one store, a striking old building at another, and a cozy reading nook at a third. A coffee chain might have a mural, a patio with a view, and a roaster you can watch at work. Those details give the game a story, so each visit feels new.

Choose a collection area people can actually enjoy

A Collection Game suits branch visits because players choose independent stops and their own order. They can collect near home on one day and visit another neighborhood later, while the game and participating locations are available. No single outing needs to cover the whole area.

Begin with a manageable cluster rather than including every address. Check travel time, crossings, accessible approaches, and opening hours. If locations are spread across town, say so clearly and suggest sensible groups of nearby stops in the game descriptions. Avoid describing a drive between distant branches as a walking trail.

Match collection to the visit you want to welcome

Collecting an idol requires no purchase. Keep the experience welcoming to people who are discovering a location for the first time, including those who only want to look around.

Physical idols for indoor discovery

A wooden idol can sit in an accessible visitor area at each participating branch. Players enter, find it, and scan its QR code, then leave it in place. Choose a position near the feature you want people to notice, without blocking browsing or the checkout queue.

Digital idols for an outdoor introduction

A digital idol uses a location check-in without a wooden object. It can suit a clearly identified exterior stop where people can pause safely. Test the collection position and GPS reception. Collecting outside does not establish that the player entered the branch.

Give every branch the same practical briefing

  1. Name a local contact

Choose someone at each branch who knows the game dates, collection position, and opening hours. They should check that a physical idol is visible and report problems to the person coordinating the game.

  2. Keep descriptions specific

Confirm each address and visiting instructions, especially in shopping centers or buildings with several entrances. Explain what is distinctive about that branch and where players may go.

  3. Prepare staff before the first visit

Share the game link and a short explanation across shifts. Staff should know that players use a free account in their phone browser, scan physical idols in place, and leave the wooden objects for others.

Use the first game to improve the next outing

Ask branch teams which questions players asked, whether the idol position caused congestion, and which features visitors noticed. Available collection information can help describe game participation. Use separate evidence to assess purchases or visits to additional branches; do not assume a collection proves either.

Bring Find the Idol the proposed locations, the story connecting them, and a timeframe that fits your operation. Find the Idol helps shape the collection experience, configure the game, prepare the rollout, and support play. A carefully chosen set of distinctive stops is enough to start that conversation.
